Final Year Project
Engine and Tools: Unreal Engine, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Office 365 Suite, Cubase, Audacity
Overview
My final year project is a 3D platformer with a large emphasis on adaptive and dynamic music. The music would react to the players movement and actions. For example, jump sounds were always in key and coins collected played a melody that matched the background music. All sounds effects had many versions created so that they were always in key with the music. I also based the level design around the music aswell, with platformers moving every bar and blocks that had to be hit on the beat.

Design Goals
Design and create an adaptive and dynamic music system with the ultimate goal that the player would feel like they are creating the music of the game as they played
Bring a mechanic based approach to level design so that I could revolve the level mechanics around the music system further connecting the two parts of this game
Design a satisfying movement system with a low skill floor and high skill ceiling. Which gave the player the choice to combine movement abilites so that players can come up with creative solutions to platforming problems
Make exploration fun and rewarding through optional objectives which are teased through the music
Use several design techniques to guide the player aswell as teach new mechanics in a tutorials that are implemented in the level themselves.
